A Note from Doug Seaton, President of UMLC

On August 7th, after five years of dedicated work for UMLC and its clients, James Dickey will be departing to take a position at a different firm. I want to personally thank James for his many contributions to our mission. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

I want to assure you that while we will miss him, our vital work will not be interrupted. In fact, our legal team is growing stronger than ever. We recently welcomed Attorney Nicholas Nelson to our ranks, and another experienced lawyer will join us in early September—so stay tuned for that announcement! This will bring our attorney staff to a total of five, and we are actively seeking a sixth to add to our ranks.

We are now better positioned than ever to pursue even more important cases for Minnesotans. Our staff is growing, but our courtroom mission remains the same: to challenge unlawful practices, advance and defend liberty, the rule of law, and freedom of speech, religion, and enterprise. While state and local government and school districts are often the offenders, we will also challenge private actors who violate these principles when a legal remedy is available.

Help us continue to be your sword and shield by contributing to fund our growing team. Your generous, confidential, and tax-deductible donations are crucial to our ability to defend these fundamental values.

Best Regards,

Doug Seaton
